Scripted Audio/Podcasts

These websites contain numerous audio recordings and/or podcasts for ESL/EFL students. Some also offer exercises based on the recordings. They are an excellent resource for listening comprehension and sound discrimination practice.

Suggested Activities

1. If the exercises that come with the recordings are appropriate for your students, assign them for homework.
2. If the exercises are not appropriate, make different ones and also assign them for homework.
3. If the recordings you like do not come with exercises, provide students with listening comprehension questions or use them for class discussions.
4. Use these recordings to discuss idiomatic expressions, culture, business vocabulary and the like.
